Cargoes Finance: Smart Trade Lending
Overview:
DP World is a global leader in supply chain solutions. The challenge was to design a logistics platform that catered to international users, with complex legal and locational restrictions.
Challenge:
I collaborated with international stakeholders, business leadership, and developers to create a financing platform available across multiple regions. The platform had to navigate various legal and locational restrictions while maintaining a seamless user experience.
Project Info:
Role: UX Designer
Project date: 2022
Platforms: Figma, Zero Height, and User Testing
Approach:
Mobile Design First
User Testing and Interviews
Design System Development
User Flows
Medium and High-Fidelity Mockups
Prototyping and UX Strategy
Results:
Through prototyping and user testing, we validated and improved the usability of both the registration and dashboard flows, reducing the time spent on tasks and enhancing the onboarding process.
Below are two project highlights, Simplifying the User Registration and Updating the Dashboard
Simplifying the User Registration
Discovery & Define:
We identified lengthy registration as a key problem, exacerbated by the large amount of legal documentation required for international users. To streamline this, I conducted in-depth user interviews, industry research, and created personas that reflected the real-world needs of our target users.
UX Solutions:
Streamlined Flows: Simplified the process by narrowing down options to two lenders based on residency (UAE and non-UAE), resulting in tailored user flows for each group.
Automation: Integrated OCR technology and KYC databases to automate document uploads and expedite the registration process, reducing manual input and errors.

Non-UAE Residents
Results and Metrics:
Time on Task: Decreased the time it took users to complete registration, improving efficiency by over 30%.
Qualitative Feedback: Users reported higher satisfaction with the streamlined registration process, noting it was easier to navigate and understand.
User Steps: For non-UAE and UAE residents, the login process now involves three steps and 5-9 screens, all based on account type and residency status.

2. Dashboard
Discover & Define:
User interviews revealed that the dashboard’s design made it difficult for users to find relevant information quickly and customize the platform to suit their individual needs.

Final Outcome:
Prototyping & User Testing: Created a medium-fidelity prototype and conducted user testing, receiving feedback from various stakeholders in the finance teams. Iterative improvements were made based on this feedback.
Enhanced Dashboard Usability: Although I left the company before final development, user testing confirmed improved navigation and customization, catering to a wide range of user needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Successfully collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure the solution was technically feasible while prioritizing user experience.
